Mayah Bloch has been to more Penn State games at Oh Mulligans than I have this year and she is a huge PSU fan. Some funds were raised during the game parties at Oh Mulligans. I wish I sent this sooner.

Local Take the Challenge Walk to Help Rare Kidney Disease Inaugural walk to raise money for PH and Stone Related Diseases Two families share more than living in the Raleigh Durham Tri-City area, they also share a life threatening disease called Primary Hyperoxaluria (PH), which causes the never ending formation of kidney stones. Join us as we “Walk for a Cure” to help “Save a Life.”
By participating in this event, you honor these families who suffer the effects of PH. Mayah Bloch, has PH1, but first and foremost she is a beautiful, bubbly, and full of life 9-year old. Despite the challenges of many tests, hospital visits, medicine and drinking a gallon of water a day, Mayah manages to always have a smile on her face. She loves school and all the activities that come with it, especially soccer. She has a strong yet sweet spirit that always seems to brighten the day of others around her.
By looking at Jon Anglemyer, husband of Melissa and father of two beautiful children, Bruce and Holly, you would never know 10 years ago, without any warning, Jon’s kidneys failed from PH. During a long 3-year wait for a combined liver and kidney transplant, Jon said” I was bedridden, going from bad to worse.” Now he can honestly say that the quality of his life feels excellent. He enjoys his career at the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries, his beautiful family and friends.
These families would like to thank you in advance for your love and support of them in this “Take the Challenge, Walk for a Cure” Their hope is, that one day, no one will have to suffer the devastating effects of this disease. In its inaugural year, the Take the Challenge is committed to raising awareness and educating friends and family and anyone who is interested in learning more about PH and stone-related diseases. The day is going to be filled with a 2-Mile Family Fitness Walk, refreshments and kid’s entertainment.
Please join us for our Take the Challenge on: Date: Saturday November 7, 2009 Time: 9:00 AM, Registration begins at 8:00 AM Place: Koka Booth Amphitheater, Cary NC Distance: 2-Mile Walk Fee: Free to walk, raise $100, receive a t-shirt Pre-register: http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1788090 All proceeds from the walk will benefit the OHF, the ONLY foundation in the world dedicated to finding a cure for Hyperoxaluria. Penn State vs. Michigan
First off, I have some really good news about the family of our game party host Brian Zawacki and his wife Jenny. Their son, Joshua Tyler, was born on Oct. 22 at 4:36 a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches. We’re very happy for Brian and his family and wish him nothing but the best and lots of sleep.

Penn State vs. Eastern Illinois - at noon
This is the news release:
Penn State's first-ever meeting with Eastern Illinois on Oct. 10 will be nationally televised by ESPN Classic. Kickoff is set for noon ET in Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lions will be making their first appearance on ESPN Classic, which is available in approximately 55 million homes.
The contest with the unbeaten Panthers is the Nittany Lions' eighth announced TV appearance of the season. Penn State will be making its second straight appearance on ABC when it visits Illinois on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT. The Big Ten Network aired No. 15/13 Penn State's first three games this season and last week's contest with Iowa was an ABC national telecast.
Eastern Illinois (4-0) was ranked No. 24 in the Sept. 21 Sports Network Football Championship Subdivision poll.
The kick times and TV for two additional Penn State games previously had been announced. The Nittany Lions' Oct. 17 Homecoming contest with Minnesota will start at 3:30 p.m. and be regionally televised by ABC (ESPN outside ABC coverage area). The Lions' road battle with Northwestern on Oct. 31 will kickoff at 4:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 181 of their last 183 games.
Coach Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions will play their first road game of the season this Saturday when they visit the Fighting Illini. Penn State leads the series, 13-3, including a 38-24 win last year in Happy Valley. The contest will air on ABC (ESPN outside ABC coverage area).

Have you ordered your Penn State North Carolina license plate?
A little tired of the debate over Duke or Carolina blue? We all know there's only one blue that matters.
Penn State blue.
But in the midst of football season, cars whiz by bearing the seals of NC State, Florida and Virginia Tech. You can put all the blue flags, paw print stickers and PSU magnets on your vehicle that you like, but this state-required metal badge cannot have a Penn State logo
You can change that.
We need just 147 more people to sign up to make the Penn State license plate a reality. The design can be an official North Carolina plate (subject to DMV approval) once we have enough reservations. Friends and family can join in this drive.
A Penn State plate can be ordered for as low as $25 on top of your regular license plate renewal.
Let's wipe the colors of the ACC and SEC off the highways, and show them some Big 10 power. Speaking of - the Boilermakers even have a plate...
$25 - a small price to pay to show your Nittany Lion pride. We can take any of these guys on the field. Let's take 'em on the roads.
Get yours now at www.trianglepsu.org and click on License Plates.

Penn State-Iowa Tailgater and Game Party
Tomorrow we're supposed to have a tailgate BBQ with the Iowa Chapter, but the weather is a bit daunting. Scott will make the call by 11 a.m. and I'll post something on the website www.trianglepsu.org.
If it's a go, the BBQ will start around 4 p.m. Florida has a game a 6 p.m. so expect a crowd.
